FICCI ADITYA BIRLA CSR CENTRE FOR EXCELLENCE has evolved in consonance with Mahatma Gandhi's dream: ethics-based business practices leading to improvement in the quality of life for the common people. The centre envisions- To incubate, nurture and accelerate a paradigm of sustainable and inclusive CSR in India and across the globe, thereby raising the Human Development Index through poverty alleviation.

The Centre for Excellence is a joint endeavor of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), a rallying point for free enterprise in India since 1927 and the Aditya Birla Group - a prominent business group with a mission to deliver superior value to customers, shareholders, employees and society at large.

As a resource centre, the Centre for Excellence shall provide strategic direction to the development of inclusive and holistic CSR practices; create synergy by providing platform to various stakeholders to share their experiences, learn, exchange ideas and support partnerships that add value to business and recognise and reward business enterprises contributing towards sustainable and inclusive development.

Goals of the Centre for Excellence are:

• Provide an enabling environment for business to pursue their CSR goals.
• Generate awareness about holistic CSR practices and sustainable development
• Create synergy amongst CSR stakeholders for exchange of ideas and shared learning
• Support capacity building of enterprises, civil society organizations and other stakeholders

About FICCI - SEDF

FICCI Socio-Economic Development Foundation of India (SEDF) was set up in 1995 to provide an institutional base to the social sector activities of corporate India. Through this initiative, FICCI has been promoting and advocating Corporate Social Responsibility since early 90s, much before it became a buzz word.

FICCI – SEDF has adopted the role of an aggregator by offering need-based Corporate Social Responsibility solutions to Corporates working in different business domains as well as a platform inviting social development projects for viable collaborations for social development.
With its expertise and bouquet of services, FICCI SEDF has created an online CSR Hub which enables corporate and non- government organizations (NGOs) alike in creating an ecosystem of high impact CSR projects aligned to the development agenda of India. Corporates and NGOs can partner with the CSR Hub on high-impact CSR projects through contributions to existing CSR Hub projects or co-create projects where necessary.

FICCI SEDF is building a comprehensive and assimilated cohort of projects in the area of sanitation, health, education, livelihood, and skill development. Presently, we are executing three sanitation projects in six states of India on behest of Companies such as Abbott India Ltd, Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ and Magma Fincorp Ltd.
